Welcome to my post, a space where I share my thoughts and experiences. When I reflect on my journey to this moment, I realize that I had hesitations about making this my first post. I wanted to wait until I had read a few blog posts before sharing my own.

As an Indigenous person belonging to the Ojibwe First Nations community, I carry with me a rich cultural heritage that shapes my identity. Being a member of Generation X, I have witnessed significant societal changes and technological advancements that have influenced the way I perceive the world.

Furthermore, I proudly identify as Pansexual, a sexual orientation that transcends traditional gender norms. Embracing my identity has been a journey of self-discovery and acceptance. My preferred pronouns are she/her, reflecting my gender identity and the way I wish to be addressed.

Through this post, I hope to share more about my unique perspective and experiences, contributing to a diverse and inclusive dialogue. Join me on this journey as we explore different aspects of identity, culture, and personal growth together. Thank you for being a part of this community.

PS, which stands for Peace and Serenity, holds a profound significance in my life. These two simple words have served as my guiding light during the darkest moments of my past. When I was navigating through the lowest points of my earlier life, it was the promise of peace and the comfort of serenity that kept me going. They became my mantras, my sources of strength and resilience. Peace, with its calming presence, helped me find solace amidst chaos, while serenity provided me with the clarity to see beyond the struggles I faced. Together, they formed a powerful duo that not only rescued me from despair but also taught me the invaluable lesson of finding inner tranquility amidst life's storms. The essence of PS continues to resonate deeply within me, reminding me of the transformative power of peace and serenity in overcoming adversity and embracing a sense of harmony in all aspects of life.

I have had the privilege of completing my college education not just once, but twice. The first time was back in 2017 when I obtained my degree in Social Service Worker. It was a proud moment for me as I was honored to be chosen as the Valedictorian of my community graduating sector convocation. This experience not only solidified my passion for helping others but also showcased my dedication and hard work in the field of social services.

Building on this foundation, I continued my educational journey and in 2023, I graduated once again, this time with a specialization in Mental Wellness and Addiction Worker. This field of study allowed me to delve deeper into understanding mental health issues and addiction, equipping me with the knowledge and skills needed to make a positive impact in the lives of those struggling with these challenges.

Each graduation was a significant milestone in my academic and personal growth. The combination of theoretical learning and practical experience has shaped me into a well-rounded professional ready to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of individuals and communities. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to expand my knowledge and expertise, and I look forward to continuing my journey of lifelong learning and service.

Every week, I aim to write several blog posts, if not at least one per week.

Until next time,

ree
